Alcatel Flash Plus
If you happen to own Alcatel Flash Plus, then you already know how impressive this phablet really is. It has thin and elegant design, it’s great for playing games, its battery life is long lasting, it has great cameras and on top of that, Alcatel Flash Plus only cost around $180 when it’s first launched.

Anyway, one of the best ways to unlock the full potential of Alcatel Flash Plus is by rooting it. So you’ll be able to do stuff like upgrading to Android Lollipop OS (custom ROMs), creating backup system with TWRP/CWM and many more.

However, rooting your phablet will make you lose its warranty. So if you are planning to root this Alcatel Flash Plus, you must realize that you’re doing this at your own risk. And I’m not responsible for anything bad that might happen on your phablet.

Okay then, below I’m about to show you how exactly to root your Alcatel Flash Plus. Hope this works on your device.

WARNING!! Do this at your own risk!! I will not be responsible for anything wrong that might happen on your phone! Rooting will also cause prevent your device from updating the software

#1. Download Kingroot 4.0.0

First things first, you need to download the rooting app that is compatible with Alcatel Flash Plus. The rooting app I’m talking about here is called ‘Kingroot’.

So Kingroot is one of the most popular rooting apps around the web right now. The awesome thing about this app is, this app is capable to root almost all the latest Android devices on the market right now.

Okay, now download Kingroot 4.0.0 and transfer it to your Android device. Kingroot app is actually really small in terms of size. So it’s up to you if you want to download this app using your Wifi connection or mobile internet data.

#2. Install Kingroot app

After downloading Kingroot 4.0.0, now install it to your smartphone. Bear in mind that Kingroot is a rooting app. So usually, when you attempt to install this app on any Android device, the system will prompt you the message to confirm your action. When that happens, select the option 'download it anyway'.

#3. Open the app

Once the installation process is complete, now open this app. This app shortcut will appear on the homescreen automatically given that Alcatel Flash Plus doesn’t have app drawer.

#4. Press Try it

Right when you open the app, you can skip the opening slide show by swapping the screen to the top. After that, you will be brought to the main screen of Kingroot. Now to begin the rooting process, press ‘Try it’.

#5. Activate your internet connection

Once you press ‘Try it’ in the beginning of the app, you will then be brought to the main screen, where you’ll see some information related to the root status of your Alcatel Flash Plus, which of course is still 'unavailable'.

Now activate your internet connection before starting the rooting process.

#6. Press ‘Start root’

As you can see on the bottom of the screen, there is a button that says ‘Start root’. Now press it to start the process of rooting. Internet connection is really required here because during this process, Kingroot will need to download some important rooting files and information that are compatible with Alcatel Flash Plus.

#7. Wait until the rooting process is complete

After you press ‘Start root’, the process of rooting will begin. It usually takes a couple of minutes and even under 1 minute. But this depends on the internet connection of your device.

So if your Alcatel Flash Plus currently has great 4G LTE internet connection, then the rooting process will take around 1 minute or more. The progress of rooting will be shown in percentage number.

So once it hits 100%, then it means the rooting process is complete. The app will then show you the green check mark indicating that your device has been successfully rooted.

Anyway, during this process, please DO NOT press anything on the screen until Kingroot finishes rooting your phone. And also, make sure that your Alcatel Flash Plus has good internet signal in order to speed up the rooting process.

#8. Your Alcatel Flash Plus has been rooted

Okay, once the rooting process is complete, the status of rooting will be changed to ‘available’, which means your Alcatel Flash Plus has been successfully rooted.

#9. Restart

After Kingroot finishes with the rooting process, this app will automatically reboot your phone. This is really important in order to fully root your device and install the SuperSU/Super User app from Kingroot. But if your phone doesn’t reboot automatically, you can do it manually.

Once your Alcatel Flash Plus reboots and enters to the homescreen, there will be 2 new apps installed on this device: SuperSU (Super User app) and the other one in Japanese language.

I strongly recommend you to NOT OPEN the second app (the one with Japanese language) because you obviously don’t understand the language and also, you don’t want to mess up with the system of your Alcatel Flash Plus.

Okay, now open the SuperSU app (Kingroot app). As you can see, there are some options presented here on the screen. For example is ‘Root Authorization’ where you'll be able to control the root permission of every app on your device.

#10. Verify the root access

The next and other more important thing to do now is verify the root access of your Alcatel Flash Plus. To do this, you need to download an app called ‘Root Checker’ on Google Play Store > and then install it > run the app > and press ‘Verify Root’.

After that, the small window will be prompted on the screen asking your root permission for this app. When that appears, select ‘GRANT’ or ‘ALLOW’ in the options.

If your Alcatel Flash Plus is properly rooted, this Root Checker app will inform you that the root access is available on your device. That means, now you’re allowed to do some stuff on your Alcatel Flash Plus, like installing CWM/TWRP recovery tool, creating the backup system, installing custom ROMS, etc.

Conclusion

Well, there you go guys, my step-by-step guide for you if you want to root your Alcatel Flash Plus. Bear in mind that, by rooting your smartphone, you will lose your warranty, which means you cannot claim your Alcatel Flash Plus at any service centers in your country.

Anyway, besides for rooting Alcatel Flash Plus, you can actually use Kingroot app to root other Alcatel smartphone – Alcatel Flash 2. But this phone requires the latest version of Kingroot app.

I actually already wrote the step-by-step guide to root this smartphone. So if you happen to own Alcatel Flash 2, then you may want to check out my other post about how to root this phone.
