Besides Asus, Samsung and Lenovo, there are actually other laptop manufacturers that also make Chromebooks. And their laptops are also worth checking out. Acer Chromebook R 11 is definitely one of them. The good news is, now you can have this Chrome-OS laptop for $249.

Yes, you got that one right. This laptop is now priced at $249 on Amazon. But of course, this price is only valid for those living in the US. Meanwhile, if you happen to be living outside the US, then the cost will skyrocket due to the shipping cost.

Anyway, for a $249 laptop, this Acer Chromebook R 11 is actually not too shabby at all. First of all, it comes with an 11.6-inch display with the resolution of 1366x768 pixels, which is quite standard for a Chromebook. The screen is touchscreen by the way.

And this is the thing that makes Acer Chromebook R 11 really awesome. So this Acer's laptop is actually a 2-in-1 convertible laptop, which means you'll be able to use it in 2 modes: laptop mode and tablet mode.

In laptop mode, of course you can use it normally as a regular laptop on the table. But if you feel like wanting to use it as a tablet, you can simply flip over its keyboard for up to 360 degrees to the back of the screen.

In this position, you can then put the laptop on the table maybe to watch movies or browse the web, while the keyboard will be assigned as the kickstand. And thanks to its touchscreen support, you can access the entire control of the screen right at your fingertips.

Isn't that awesome, huh?

Performance

As far as the specs is concerned, this laptop is powered by an Intel Celeron processor clocked at 1.6GHz, paired with Intel HD Graphics and then, there's also 4GB of RAM on board to ensure its smooth performance when running Chrome OS.

So basically, this one is a pretty good performing Chromebook. And you can totally count on its performance to do some basic tasks like typing, browsing the web, running Office apps or even playing some Chrome-OS games.

The downside though, is in its storage department. This Acer Chromebook is only equipped with 32GB of built-in internal storage. So if you're planning to keep many of your favorite movies, music and games, you may want to steer clear from this Chromebook.

But it's probably not such a deal breaker for some users out there, especially students. And besides, there's microSD card slot provided on this Chromebook. So hopefully, you can bump up its storage to 64GB or even 128GB to complement the internal storage.

How does it perform for playing games?

For a gaming laptop, we totally don't recommend this Acer Chromebook R 11 to you especially because it's running on Chrome OS, not Windows OS. So the game selection on this platform is pretty limited right now.

However, despite all that, this Acer Chromebook is still a good performing laptop. It's got an Intel Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM and Intel HD Graphics.

Hopefully, this Acer Chromebook is one of the laptops that will get the support from Google to run Android apps in the near future.

But don't get your hopes up on this one because heavy Android games like Asphalt 8 apparently doesn't run so smoothly even on Samsung's latest Chromebook Plus.

Should I buy it?

Priced at $249, Acer Chromebook R 11 is definitely one Chromebook you don't wanna miss. It's got pretty good specs, it's a touchscreen laptop and its bendable design totally makes it more versatile than pretty much any regular laptops around the market right now.
