How to Stop Notifications From Facebook App on Your Smartphone or Tablet?

I think it’s really mind blowing to see how popular Facebook has become in just a couple of years. And now this social media website is becoming much bigger than ever all thanks to its app which can be found on any devices like smartphones, tablets or even wearable.

Now almost everyone you know, either your friends, family members or maybe the people in your office, all have their own Facebook app on their device.

Anyway, on Facebook app, you can do a bunch of things like reading the latest timeline in your Facebook account, checking out other profiles and many other stuff that you can also do on Facebook's website.

However, there is something that in my opinion is pretty annoying about Facebook app. It’s actually similar just like on other social media apps. And that is the push notification feature.

So this push notification on Facebook app will keep popping up on your smartphone or tablet everytime you receive a new comment, a new friend request or when you’re being tagged in the photos.

Even though it’s great to be notified about something that just happened on your Facebook account, over the time, I think the ringtone of this push notification can a bit annoying to hear especially when you’re trying to focus on something important like your homework or documents at your office.

So the question is, how exactly to turn off this push notification from Facebook app?

Well, it’s actually not that hard to do that. But I think, compared to Twitter or Instagram, turning off the push notification on Facebook is a bit complicated because Facebook has more organized setting page than Twitter or Instagram.

This is why today, I would like to show you how exactly to turn off the push notification from your Facebook app so you will no longer receive any notification on your device everytime something happens on your Facebook account.


Okay, the first thing you should do, is of course open your Facebook app.


As you can see, there is a menu option on the TOP RIGHT CORNER with Ξ logo on it. Now tap it to open the menu option of Facebook app.


After pressing the menu option, you will be shown with the long list of options. Now scroll down to the bottom of the list and select “Account Setting”. You will be brought to the setting page of your account.


Now that you want to set the push notifications off so it will no longer give you any notification everytime something happens in your Facebook. To do this, select “Notifications” in the list because this is where you can manually control all the push notification settings on your Facebook app.


In the Notifications setting page, there is a bunch of options provided to you so you can set each of different notification on Facebook app.

But if you want to turn off only the push notification that usually pops up on your smartphone everytime you receive a new comment, a new post or a new friend, then you only need to change the notifications setting on “Mobile”.

Okay, now select “Mobile” in the list.


As you can see, on the bottom area, this app will show you some posts that you usually receive in your timeline. In order to stop these notifications from popping out again on your smartphone or tablet, you just need to tap on each of the posts presented on the screen.

Okay, now tap on each of the posts on the bottom area.


Well, there you go guys, my tips for you if you want to turn off the notification feature from your Facebook app. So from now on, you will no longer see any annoying pop-up notification from this app on your device.

I know that there are still some other notifications that might appear on your device, but I believe they are important notifications that you don’t wanna miss like your friends’ birthdays, their activities and other more.

But if you want to turn them off completely, you can do that on the setting page I've already showed you above.
