If you happen to own any Nexus devices right now, I have exciting news for you. Google is currently planning to release Android Nougat 7.1.1 updates for a wide range of Nexus tablets and smartphones.

This is definitely such great news given that Google is now really busy with its new project - Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. This also shows how Google is still fully committed with its responsibility to bring the newer software updates for its older Nexus devices.

Anyway, the Nexus devices that will be planned to receive the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat updates are the following: Google Nexus 6P (Huawei), Google Nexus 6 (Motorola), Google Nexus 5 (LG), Google Nexus 9 (HTC), Pixel C tablet (HTC) and Nexus Player from Asus.

There's actually nothing so shocking about this news because all of these Nexus devices are considered as powerful with high-grade specs. So they are definitely more than adequate to handle Android Nougat OS along with all of its features without any problem.

The release of Android 7.1.1 Nougat updates will start rolling out this December 6th. In fact, Vodafone Australia has already confirmed that Google Nexus 6P will be getting this update soon on December 6th.

Android Nougat OS for Android ONE devices

The other great news is, besides these Nexus devices, rumor also has it that Google is planning to send out Android Nougat updates to Android ONE supported devices.

For those of you who are new about Android ONE devices, these are the smartphones made by Google's manufacturing partners in some developing countries.

They are mostly low-end smartphones, however. But the great thing is, given that these Android ONE devices are made by Google's partners, it will be a lot easier for Google to send the software updates for these smartphones, even though they are low-end devices with low-grade specs.

So I think it's such a great move by Google if this tech giant indeed will also send the Android Nougat OS to these Android ONE smartphones.

But of course, you cannot expect these devices to be able to run all the features on Android Nougat OS. Their hardware are just not adequate enough to run the full-fledged version of the OS.

No Daydream VR support for Nexus devices

Anyway, regarding the release of Android Nougat 7.1.1 update for Google Nexus devices, it's worth mentioning that this update will not automatically make these Nexus devices capable to be paired with Daydream VR headset from Google.

This Daydream VR headset is currently only available for Pixel and Pixel smartphones (probably Pixel tablet) mainly because this headset requires any device to have high-grade hardware as well as specific sensors in order to use it.

However, the release of this Android 7.1.1 Nougat updates for Nexus devices should still be appreciated though because there are many great and new interesting features found on this new software updates.

Well, if you're currently a proud owner of Nexus devices aforementioned above, be sure to stay tuned this December 6th because that's the time when Google will finally send out this update to your device via OTA (over-the-air).
