Acer and HP are actually 2 of Microsoft's hardware partners that will also be making Windows 10 S laptops in the coming days or weeks. Meanwhile, other manufacturers from ASUS, DELL, Samsung, Toshiba and Fujitsu will join forces soon.
Priced at only $299, two Windows 10 laptops from HP and Acer are pretty impressive devices. In fact, they can actually make great alternatives for the new Surface laptop.
Let's start with HP ProBook x360 Education Edition
So basically, not only can you use it as normal regular laptop on the table, but this HP's laptop also allows you to rotate the screen in full 360 degrees and turn it into a full tablet. Isn't that awesome, huh?
And then in performance, an Intel Celeron N3350 processor and Intel HD Graphics 500 will run the entire show here, coupled with 4gigs of RAM in memory department. There's also 64GB built-in storage which is expandable through SD card slot.
It will run on Windows 10S out of the box. For your information, this is Microsoft's new cloud-based OS, aimed at Google's popular Chrome OS. It's actually the more secure version of the regular Windows 10. It's going to be more efficient with battery usage as well.
But on Windows 10S, users are only allowed to install apps straightly from Windows Store. So 3rd party apps are totally blocked here. Thankfully, users can still run 3rd party apps on this laptop but they need to upgrade it first from Windows 10S to Windows 10 Pro OS.
That's the HP ProBook x360 Education Edition. What about Acer TravelMate Spin B1 Convertible?
Well, Acer TravelMate Spin B1 Convertible is actually not any different than HP's laptop. So it's also a touchscreen laptop. And it also features a full 360-degree hinge which gives users more flexibility in using this laptop.
So yes, you can use it as a normal regular laptop on the table. But if you want to watch movies or browse the web more conveniently, you can rotate the screen up to full 360 degrees to enter the kickstand mode, tent mode or tablet mode.
Acer TravelMate Spin B1 is packing an 11.6-inch 1080p display. Intel Celeron processor will handle the performance, accompanied with 4GB of RAM to ensure its smooth lag-free experience. The storage available here is 64GB, but we believe it's expandable through its SD card reader.
Just like HP's laptop, this Acer TravelMate Spin B1 Convertible will also go on sale for only $299 and it's already available right now. The coolest thing is, it also comes with its own stylus in the package. So artists or designers out there will definitely want to grab this laptop immediately.
