Many of Samsung tablets mostly have good gaming performance, especially the flagship models.
And that’s probably because Samsung tablets are widely popular around the market, alongside the iPad, so that becomes a huge advantage for Samsung to convince many game developers to always well optimize their games or apps specifically for Samsung tablets.
(Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE Specs)
However, - of course – not all Samsung tablets are really good gaming tablets, especially in terms of performance - like the cheap budget Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 7-inches or Tab 3 Lite -, which both have really low-grade specs compared to other Samsung tablets.
The good news is, all of the tablets under the flag Samsung GALAXY Pro series all have great gaming performance.
And that’s thanks to the powerful hardware specs found inside these tablets – from the quad-core Snapdragon 800/Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor, 2/3GB of RAM, Adreno 330 GPU/Mali T628 GPU, huge battery capacity, insanely sharp display and many more.
But then again, from all the tablets released in this series, probably not all of them will be ideal as gaming tablets – like the biggest Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 or Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 – of course given their huge screen size that is too huge for a gaming tablet.
However, even though Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 or Note Pro 12.2 may not be ideal for playing games, these tablets are still great gaming tablets.
They have fast processor, powerful GPU, huge space of RAM, huge battery capacity, sharpest display and many other elements of a great gaming tablet.
So that means, these tablets are more than capable to handle any kind of games on Google Play Store in smooth performance and the most importantly, in full graphics.
Well, if you’re interested to know more about these tablets, and especially their gaming performance, then here you go, my personal reviews of Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE and Note Pro 12.2 LTE tablets.
But i’ll start with Samsung GALAXY Tab Pro 12.2 LTE first, then i’ll post the review for Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12. 2 later probably tomorrow.
Anyway, before you go straight to the review, don’t forget to share this review to your friends or family by using the social media icons (Twitter, Facebook, Google +, etc) around this page.
I would really appreciate your contribution here.
Okay then, without further ado, here you go, my personal review of Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE.
Introduction
As a media-consumption tablet, then Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE without a doubt is a great tablet for that matter.
It has a sharpest looking and huge display, a fast-performing processor, a powerful GPU, a huge RAM, a big battery capacity and many other elements that make it a great media-consumption tablet.
However, as a gaming tablet, i don’t think Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE will be a good gaming tablet.

It’s not because its hardware specs are not powerful enough for gaming – it’s definitely wrong because this tablet with its powerful specs are more than capable to run any games on Google Play Store.
But it’s more because its screen size – which i think – is just too huge for playing games. I mean, you would feel exhausted holding this huge tablet in long long hours of playing games, right?
But even so, despite being not an ideal gaming tablet, this Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE still has great gaming performance though.
In fact, this tablet is one of the best gaming tablets around the high-end tablet market to date, alongside the iPad Air, Sony Xperia Z2 or Google Nexus 10.
Any games that you see on Google Play Store will run perfectly on this huge tablet, and the most importantly in full high graphics.
And that’s thanks to the Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and powerful Adreno 330 GPU inside this tablet.
But the question remains, with all of those powerful specs and performance, does Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE have what it takes to be a great gaming tablet?
Well, we’re about to find out more about that later in this review. So check it out guys.
Design
Similar just like the other tablets under the flag Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro series, this tablet interestingly also shares all the same design characteristic with its siblings.
It has that fake stitching around the edge on its faux leather rear-cover and there is also the metallic looking trim all over the side bezels.
This design is actually inspired by the original design of Samsung GALAXY Note 3, which also has all of these elements (the fake stitching, the faux leather and the fake metallic looking trim).
I personally really like the entire design of this tablet.
Even though it doesn’t look as premium and elegant as iPad Air or Sony Xperia Z, we should still appreciate all the efforts made by Samsung’s design team over this tablet.
It still looks premium, elegant and the most importantly, professional for a non-Windows tablet like this.
But i really hope that Samsung will improve the design of its GALAXY line in the near future and probably have more guts to jump to the more premium design material with aluminum just like what HTC did on its new HTC One M8 (and probably the rumored-new HTC Nexus tablet).

However, given that this tablet is packing a much larger 12.2-inch display, then it’s probably more suitable to position this tablet alongside other “Pro” tablet – Microsoft Surface Pro 3, which is using 13.3-inch display -, despite using 2 different type of platforms, Android OS and Windows 8.1 Pro OS.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE features a huge 12.2-inch display sporting the highest-resolution 2560x1600 pixels, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 1.9GHz per core, 3GB of RAM, Adreno 330 GPU, 8MP rear-facing camera, 2MP front-facing camera, another huge 9500mAh power battery, Android 4.4 KitKat comes out of the box and many other high-grade specs inside.
On the software side, unlike other Samsung GALAXY devices with the TouchWiz UI, this Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE interestingly comes pre-installed with the brand new Magazine UI, which brings a complete design overhaul to the UI and features on this tablet.
So if you’re looking for an Android tablet with a different experience than the standard Android UI with widget-dedicated homescreen, you probably would like to try the new experience on this tablet.
It now looks more professional with square-box homescreen and a plenty of new features.
Screen
Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE features a large 12.2-inch display sporting the highest-resolution 2560x1600 pixels – which is the same screen resolution found on the smaller 10.1-inch and 8.4-inch models.
However, when it comes to sharpness, then the smallest 8.4-inch model will win this battle given that this tablet is sporting the smaller display but still have all of those 2560x1600 pixels crammed on this smaller screen.
As a result, everything on the screen will look much even sharper and more crisp than the biggest 12.2-inch model.
However, you probably won’t notice any difference between these 2 models.
They both still look gorgeous and sharp compared to other tablets in their category.
In fact, these 2 tablets currently have the best displays on the tablet market to date.
So if you really love enjoying media contents on a tablet, like full HD movies, books/magazines, web pages or HD games, you will feel at home when using this tablet.
Everything that you throw on the screen just looks insanely sharp and crisp even in normal view (without zooming in/out).
Similar just like the other 2 models, Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE is also packing the same exact Snapdragon 800 processor, accompanied with Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
With all of these monster specs, this tablet will grant you all the access to enjoy anything on this tablet – all in fast and smooth performance.
So for doing any basic tasks, like watching full HD movies, reading books/magazines, using live wallpaper, browsing the web or checking out photos – this tablet is more than capable to deliver them all in seamless performance without any lag whatsoever, even with that highest-resolution screen, thanks to those monster specs.
It goes the same with playing games.
If you happen to be a huge fan of tablet gaming and would like to use this tablet as a gaming device – Yes, you certainly can do that perfectly well.
Thanks to Snapdragon 800 and its “beast” Adreno 330 GPU, any games that you find on Google Play Store can be played without any problem on this tablet.
From simple games like Angry Birds: Star Wars, Fruit Ninja or Temple Run, to more graphically demanding games like Asphalt 8: Airborne, Modern Combat 4 (even 5), N.O.V.A 3, Need for Speed Most Wanted, GTA Vice City or even GTA San Andreas – all of these games will run in smooth performance and the most importantly, in full high graphics.
However, as for the GTA San Andreas, i have little doubts this tablet will run smoothly in full graphics, given its advanced graphics and huge maps all over the game.
Not to mention, this tablet also uses that highest-resolution display plus some heavy software and features.
According to what i’ve seen on many video reviews on YouTube, the only devices that can play this game smoothly in full graphics are the ones with Snapdragon 800 but with stock Android OS, like Google Nexus 5, etc.
But even so, Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE is still a great gaming tablet, of course in terms of performance.
But this tablet may not be so ideal as a gaming tablet given its huge screen size – which according to TheVerge, could cause a headache to you when used for playing some HD games.
Besides, your hands probably would feel exhausted when holding this device for playing games in long long hours, right?
So this is the reason why i strongly suggest you to pick up either the 10.1-inch or 8.4-inch models of this tablet if you’re gonna use it mainly for gaming.
Camera
Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE features 2MP and 8MP cameras on front and back. And given that Samsung flagship devices have been popularly known to have great quality cameras, then you can also expect the same on this tablet.
In fact, when it comes to quality, the camera on this tablet can deliver some decent shots just like the camera on iPad Air.
So if you love taking photos or recording videos, you’ll make no mistake when getting this tablet.
Battery Life
In terms of battery life, then Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE is really superior in that department. Unlike the smaller 10.1-inch and 8.4-inch models, this 12.2-inch tablet is packing a much larger 9500mAh power battery, providing a long lasting battery life to users.
So even if you’re gonna use this tablet to do some heavy intense tasks without resting the screen at all – like watching full HD movies in marathon or playing games in the row -, this tablet is more than capable to deliver you some decent 8 to 10 hours of battery life.
So you can expect this tablet to last much even longer – even in 2 days – if you only use it in your spare time with combined screen on/off time.
My Personal Opinions
As a media-consumption tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE is definitely a great device for that matter.
It has a huge 12.2-inch display sporting the highest-resolution, it has some monster specs under its hood and the most importantly, it delivers a fast and smooth experience to users.
However, for playing games, Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 LTE may not be such an ideal gaming tablet given that it has a really huge screen and it probably would make your hands feel exhausted when holding it for long long hours.
But even so, this tablet is still great for playing games, watching full HD movies, reading books/magazines, browsing the web or even doing some productivity-related activities – like writing, blogging, etc -, thanks to its huge display that provides the full on-screen QWERTY keyboard with some huge buttons that are really comfortable to use.
However, if you’re mainly gonna use this tablet for playing games, i strongly suggest you to pick up the smaller 10.1-inch or even 8.4-inch models because they’re just more ideal and comfortable to hold when playing games.
Besides, all of these models also share the same exact specs, like the same 2560x1600 pixel display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB/3GB of RAM, 8MP camera, huge battery capacity and many other similar goodies.
So you’ll make no mistake when picking up either one of these Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro models.
