How to Transfer Your Save Game data from PS 4 to PS5 or PlayStation 5?
Sony PlayStation 5 is probably the best PlayStation generation that Sony has ever made. The number of people buying the console is just phenomenal (4.5 millions as of December 31 2020) and insanely, it hits the level where the demand of PS 5 exceeds the number of supply provided by Sony, which means this console is still sold out until now and you cannot buy it anywhere.

How to Transfer Your Save Game data from PS 4 to PS5 or PlayStation 5?

Anyway, if you happen to be one of the lucky owners of PlayStation 5 and you are planning to play your old PlayStation 4 games on this new-gen PS 5, below I'm going to give you the step-by-step process of transferring your save game data from PS 4 to PS 5.

1. Transferring your save data with Data Transfer

Okay, the easiest and fastest way to transfer your PS4 save data to PS 5 is by using a feature called 'Data Transfer'.

But first things first, make sure that your PS 5 has been updated to the latest software version. And then, the next thing to do is connect your PS 4 and PS 5 to the same wifi network and follow the instructions as shown on the screen.

But if you want to get a much better transfer speed, it's recommended to use your ethernet cable and then connect it directly to both PS 4 and PS 5. Once your cable is connected, you can follow the instructions shown on your PS 5 screen.

2. Open Data Transfer menu on your PS 5

After that, open your PS5 "Settings", and then "System", "System Software" menu, finally "Data Transfer" and let the process start.

The coolest thing is, during the process of transferring your save data, you can still enjoy your PS5 and play some games. And if the process has completed, the notification will appear on the screen.

Transfering your save data via External Storage

Besides using WiFi network and ethernet cable, Sony also provides another solution for you to transfer your PS4 save data to your PS 5. And that is by using external storage device.

So you can transfer all of your games and save data instataneously via external storage. And this totally reduces hassles because it will be much easier and faster.

Not to mention, you can also install your PS 4 games into this external storage and then play them directly on your PS 5, which means you don't need to copy anything to your PS 5. And this also saves a lot of space on your PS 5. But it's important that your external storage must have USB 3.0 support.

Transferring your PS4 games to PS 5

Another great way to get your PS 4 games onto your PS 5 is by using your PSN account. So you just need to sign in to your PS5 with the same PSN account that you use on your PS4. After that you can download your PS4 games through PS 5 game library.

To do this, all you have to do is sign in to your PSN account on your PS5. And once you have signed in, go to the right side of UI, open the game library, you can then find all of your PS 4 games and download them to your PS 5 system.

Install PS4 games on your PlayStation 5

Backward compatibility has been the main feature of next-gen consoles. And PS 5 is no exception. Now with your PS5, you can still enjoy your PS4 games using this feature.

How to do that? Well, you simply just need to insert your PS4 game disc into your PS5, and then it will install the game automatically .

But if you don't want to start the games all over again, you can use your PS4 games' save data and transfer them via WiFi network using Data Transfer. Once the transfer has completed, you can then load your save data on your PS 5 games.

You can also upload your PS4 games' save data on cloud storage using your valid PlayStation Plus membership account and then download your save data on your PS 5.

However, if you dont have a valid PlayStation plus account, you can still use your flashdisk and then copy the save data from your ps4 to your ps5, but make sure that you are using the same account on both consoles.
