Cyberpunk 2077 save files
If you are experiencing any errors when saving your game, today I'm going to show how to backup Cyberpunk 2077 save files on PC.
Despite being one of the most anticipated games in 2020 and getting a handful of game awards, it doesn't mean that Cyberpunk 2077 is one perfect game. In fact, it is far from perfect.

Besides the performance issues found on the console versions, the PC version apparently also has the share of problems. Many players experienced that Cyberpunk 2077 save files became corrupted and unusable once their size reached 8MB.

Cyberpunk 2077 save files

So once the save data reaches this number, your Cyberpunk 2077 save files apparently will become useless and they cannot be loaded anymore in the game, which means, the players will have to load the other save data that hasn't hit 8MB or much worse, they will have to start the game all over again. No solution has been found until now even by the developer - CD Projekt RED.

What's the solution for this problem?

Normally, Cyberpunk 2077 save files are around 4MB in size. But the number increases when the player start crafting some stuff in the game. And when it hits 8MB, it's a game over for you.

Anyway, if you haven't faced this problem (good for you!), it's probably best to check your save data right now and start making a backup regularly from now on.

Below, I'm going to show you how exactly to backup Cyberpunk 2077 save files in case something goes wrong in the future.

1. Open File Explorer

Okay, first things first, now open the file explorer on your PC. And then, open the local C drive of your computer.

2. Go to the folder Users

After that, open the folder "Users". This folder contains all of the software data that you have installed on your PC.

3. Go to your PC name

In "Users" folder, go to your PC name folder. So if our PC name is "Smith PC", then this is the folder you will be opening.

4. Go to the folder Saved Games

As you can see, there will be a bunch of folders that can be found here. Now select the folder "Saved Games".

5. Go to CD Project Red

Okay, now select the folder named "CD Projekt Red".

6. Go to Cyberpunk 2077

Now open the folder "Cyberpunk 2077" because this is the place where all of your save data can be found.

As you can see, once you open the folder, you can see all of Cyberpunk 2077 save files, from your autosave data as well as your manual saves.

7. Open "ManualSave" folder

Now to check if your save data has been corrupted or not, open the "ManualSave" folder. Normally, Cyberpunk 2077 save files are around 4MB in size.

But this depends on the way you play the game. I mean, as aforementioned above, most players that had their save data corrupted were the ones that crafted too many stuff in the game.

So if you haven't done too much crafting in the game, then your save data will be around 4MB in size. But again, the size Cyberpunk 2077 save files will increase as you start crafting stuff.

8. Backup the save data

Okay, now you just found out that your save data either has not been corrupted. But in case something bad happens in the future, it's best if you copy your save data to the other folder.

My advice to you is to not craft a lot of stuff in the game in order to keep the save data around 4MB.

But if you just found out that your save data has increased and hit 8MB of size, then there's nothing you can about it right now.

I'm afraid that your save data has been corrupted and you won't be able to load the game from this save data. So all you can do right now is load the other save data that hasn't reached 8MB. But I recommend you to start making the backup of your save data from now on.
