How to install Windows Store apps on microSD card on Windows 8.1?

Windows 8.1 is certainly an amazing operating system. Now this platform supports touchscreen on its interface and it's also capable to run all of you full-fledged Windows software and even PC games like GTA IV or Bioshock Infinite.

However, there's something that's still holding back Windows 8.1 from being a perfect OS. And that is its inability of installing Windows Store apps/games to external storage or microSD card.

Well, the answer for that problem is by upgrading your tablet from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

Yes, that’s right. If you want to be able to install Windows Store apps to your external microSD card, all you have to do is upgrade your Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. This is by far the safest solution that we know to solve that problem.

Windows 10 is definitely the much better and more improved version of Windows 8.1. And it also performs more effectively than Windows 8.1, especially with the use of memory (RAM), which means you'll get better battery life because Windows 10 has better RAM management.


However, there are some important things to prepare before even doing the process of upgrading your Windows 8.1 tablet to Windows 10.


Before even upgrading to Windows 10, it's really vital to create the backup of all drivers on your Windows 8.1 tablet.

You can use the software called “Glary Utilities”. This software can backup all of the drivers on your tablet and later, you can restore them all back to your tablet when it’s been upgraded to Windows 10.

But you also need to backup the driver that controls the touchscreen of your tablet. The touchscreen driver is called "touchsetting.gt" and it's located in 'C:\Windows\INF' folder. All you need to do is copy this file and keep it on flashdisk or SD card.

This driver is really important to backup because first of all, you cannot find this driver anywhere around internet. And second of all, you're going to use it when your tablet has been upgraded to Windows 10. Otherwise, the touchscreen on your Windows 10 tablet will not work properly and it's pretty much useless as a tablet.

So this is why you should NEVER upgrade your tablet from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 unless you have prepared everything perfectly.
