Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air
So the questions is, is Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air worth to buy than any other competitors out there on the market right now?

Okay, before I answer that question, let me first explain to you what Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air really is.

So if you haven’t heard of it, yes, Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air is a regular laptop made by Xiaomi. However, unlike most of other competitors on the market today, this Xiaomi laptop is really prominent when it comes to design and build quality.

As a matter of fact, through Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air, it’s really obvious that Xiaomi wants to give Apple run for its money.

That shows perfectly by the entire design of Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air that totally bears a striking resemblance with Apple’s laptop - Macbook Air (it's even got the similar name, for God's sake!).

In fact, this Xiaomi laptop looks almost identical with Apple laptop. It’s made out of full metal materials with silver color all over the place.

As a result, Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air is a thin and sleek laptop with solid and premium build quality, something that has been so familiar to see on Apple notebook for the past couple of years.

But of course, in order to compete head-to-head against Apple Macbook Air, this Xiaomi laptop must offer something more than just a sleek design and premium build quality.

This is why, besides having premium design and build quality, Xiaomi laptop also excels in terms of performance and specs. And you can totally see it from the internal hardware found under the hood of this laptop.

2 Variants of Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air laptops

So Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air consists in 2 variants of models, the larger one with 13.3-inch screen and the smaller more affordable one with 12.5-inch display. Both are sporting full HD resolution by the way, so it’s obvious that the screens on both laptops will look insanely sharp.

And given Xiaomi’s history of partnership with renowned display manufacturers like SHARP, LG, etc for almost all of its products (like smartphones or tablets), then you can be sure that the display on any of these Xiaomi laptops is not gonna suck.

Hardware and Performance

As far as the performance goes, Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air features an Intel Core i5 processor, coupled with a staggering 8GB of DDR4 RAM.

Meanwhile, all the graphical tasks on this device will be taken care by Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphics chipset. So if you are a heavy gamer, then you can totally count on this laptop to handle even the latest and most graphically demanding PC games on the market today.

However, these are the hardware specs found on the larger more expensive 13.3-inch model.

The smaller 12.5-inch Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air, on the other hand, is powered by a more humble Intel Core i3 processor with 4GB of RAM and Nvidia HD graphics (if I’m not mistaken). So you can still use this device to do some heavy performing tasks like video editing or even gaming.

Thinner design than Apple Macbook Air

Another thing that is so amazing on Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air is, this laptop is said to be 13% thinner and also 11% smaller than Apple Macbook Air, with a really thin 5,56mm of bezel on the front screen.

And this is mind blowing because Apple Macbook Air has been known as the thinnest and lightest laptop in the world.

So if Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air is said to be much thinner and smaller than Apple laptop, then you can imagine how thin and light it’s gonna be when you hold it in your hand. As a matter of fact, I believe you can even hold this Xiaomi laptop in just one single hand and it still feels like holding a really thin tablet.

When will these bad boys come out?

Talking about release date, this Xiaomi laptop actually has already been available to buy since 2nd of August last month. Unfortunately, this laptop can only be bought in China at this time. But given Xiaomi’s history of selling its products, I’m quite sure that Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air will also arrive soon in other Asian countries outside China.

The answer: Is Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air worth to buy?

So regarding the question “Is Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air worth to buy than any other competitors out there on the market right now?”, my answer is, YES, definitely.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air is definitely a worth buying laptop, of course in the mid-end market in the price range of $500 - $700.

Okay, I know that there is only one product that I’ve ever bought from Xiaomi. And that was Xiaomi Redmi 1S smartphone. And my overall impression of this phone is mixed between satisfied and disappointed.

However, if we look at the recent products that Xiaomi just launched to the market lately, like Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 and its flagship quality smartphones, then we can totally see how serious this company really is especially in bringing top notch quality products at the fractured costs of other high-end competitors on the market.

And with that being said, then I’m really positive that Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air is gonna be a decent quality laptop that is even on the same level with other competing rivals on high-end market.

It may be made by a Chinese company. But Xiaomi now has become a global company that never compromises when making its products.

And through Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air, this shows that the company is definitely on the right track.
